The Israel Defense Force says dozens of rockets were fired from Lebanon

Israel’s military said it carried out an air strike in Lebanon’s Beirut on Friday in response to Hezbollah’s “repeated launches of missiles at Israel”. The strike broke up the group’s chain of command and took away a person who was responsible for the deaths of Israelis, Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant said. At least 20 people were killed in the strike.

Israel ordered the bureau of Al Jazeera’s satellite news network to shut down in the Israeli-occupied West Bank because it covers the Israel-Hamas war. Armed Israeli troops entered the office and said the staff needed to leave immediately. Al Jazeera aired a story about Israel troops tearing down a banner on a balcony at the Al Jazeera office.
