This election is crucial to Trump taking full control of the legal system
US Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has said that the Supreme Court is an “incredible shrinking” court. “If we have divided government and we have justices naturally retiring or dying and they don’t get replaced, we could go down to eight, to seven, to six and eventually the public might start to notice and complain about it,” he added.
Rapid 3D-printing could be used on space missions
A syringe-based system for dynamic interface printing using a high-resolution, low-resolution optical projection module was developed. The system’s position was controlled by a 50 ml syringe connected to print head with a silicone and pressurized tube. Acoustic modulation of the air–liquid interface was achieved by direct manipulation of the air volume within the print head.

Secrets of radiation-resisting powers were revealed by a new species of tardigrade
Scientists have discovered thousands of genes that can become active when exposed to radiation after analysing the genome of a new species of tardigrade. Around 30% of the genes found in the species were unique to tardigrades. Tardigrades are known to withstand extreme conditions, including radiation at levels nearly 1,000 times higher than the lethal dose for humans.

Artificial intelligence watermarking needs to be effective
AI company DeepMind, in its experiment, analysed a dataset of AI text and found that it was much easier to remove a watermark in the AI-generated text as compared to written text. It used a watermarking process that alters the way in which it statistically selects its ‘tokens’, which are the words from a given book or article. In its experiment, DeepMind added over 100 billion words.
