The speaker pick was made public in a video that described Kermit as a champion of creativity, kindness, and believing in the impossible.

This year’s graduation speaker was announced in March, and it is the originator of the Muppets that will be speaking. He has been a student at the school.

The University of Maryland’s class of 2025 received advice from the Muppet after receiving their diplomas Thursday evening.
