Iran retaliates on the fourth day of the conflict

Israeli firefights against oil refinery targets: The latest flares of nuclear-nucleus tensions in Israel and the region of Tel Aviv

Concerns have been raised that the fighting between Iran and Israel could escalate into a larger conflict. The latest exchanges came just hours after planned U.S. talks on Iran’s nuclear program were called off.

On social media, President Trump said the U.S. had “nothing to do with the attack on Iran, tonight,” but warned that if the U.S. was attacked by Iran in any way, that “the full strength of U.S. Armed forces will come down on [Iran] at levels never seen before.”

At least ten casualties, including children, and hundreds injured, were reported by Magen David Adom, which is the Israeli emergency services organization.

The deadliest strikes hit a residential building in Bat Yam, a suburb south of Tel Aviv, killing at least six people including a 10-year-old boy and 9-year-old girl. Another 180 people were wounded and seven still missing, according to local police.

People in the north ran for shelter and sirens blared as missiles struck the largest oil refinery in the country. Four women were killed in Tamra, an Arab town of around 35,000 people, according to the Associated Press. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps, or IRGC, said it had targeted Israel’s fuel structure in response to Israel’s strikes on its oil facilities in the south.

In the central city of Rehovot, at least 42 people were injured and several campus buildings at The Weizmann Institute of Science, a prominent research center, were also struck. No one on campus was injured despite the extensive damage.

Yemen’s Houthi rebels, the UN, and the “Iran’s axis”: Israeli attacks on the host nation

Yemen’s Houthi rebels said Sunday that they had assisted Iran by launching more ballistic missiles at Israel. Israel’s military confirmed that the group also launched missiles at Israel on Friday, coinciding with Iran’s direct retaliation for Israeli strikes.

Iran’s nuclear headquarters and two fuel sites were among 80 targets the Israel’s Defense Forces attacked overnight, according to an Israeli military official.

More than 200 people have been killed and more than 1000 injured in Iran since the start of the Israel offensive, according to the Health Ministry.

The situation between Israel and Iran has “deteriorated drastically” and both sides need to show maximum restraint, said the secretary general of the UN.

Netanyahu warned that once the region’s “Iranian axis” was broken, Iran would accelerate its nuclear program. The attack on Iran was supposed to occur in April but it was postponed, Netanyahu added.

The strikes came a day after the U.N. nuclear watchdog declared that Iran wasn’t complying with nuclear nonproliferation agreements aimed at halting the spread of nuclear weapons. Iran reacted saying it would create a new uranium enrichment facility. Iran says it is doing peaceful work with its nuclear program.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard and the High-Energy Nuclear Force: a U.S.-Israel War on Nuclear Security, a Report on Iran’s Violation

The meeting was canceled on Saturday, according to the foreign minister. But he said “diplomacy and dialogue remain the only pathway to lasting peace.”

Mike Huckabee said on X the US embassy in Tel Aviv would remain closed on Monday, after one missile hit it. No U.S. personnel were reported injured in the strike. Despite continued international calls for de-escalation, neither side showed signs it was prepared to enter talks.

The issue here is not a cease fire, it is stopping things that could threaten our survival and I think we can achieve it.

On Monday, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard warned more rounds of strikes against Israel would be “more forceful, severe, precise and destructive than previous ones.”

President Trump had renewed his calls for Iran and Israel to make a deal in a Sunday post on his Truth Social site but later told reporters that they just have to fight it out.

Israeli military spokesman Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin said the Air Force had achieved “full aerial superiority” over the skies of Tehran on Monday. He added that the military had destroyed a third of Iran’s missile launchers.
