European officials are trying to figure out a solution to the Iran problem

Tehran’s reaction to a missile attack on an Iranian civilian building in the Beersheba city: diplomatic talks between Iran and the West

In Israel, at least five people were injured after an Iranian missile struck a residential building in the southern city of Beersheba. The strike comes just a day after an Iranian missile hit Soroka Medical Center, the largest hospital in southern Israel.

Israel and Iran traded more strikes overnight into Friday, with the Israeli military saying it struck dozens of Iranian military targets around Tehran and western Iran.

Iran would be reassured that it wouldn’t enrich nuclear material, that it wouldn’t weaponize it, and that it would scale back its missile program.

Germany’s Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, meanwhile, said Berlin was open to further discussions with Iran if there is a “serious willingness” from Tehran to provide assurances on its nuclear and missile programs.

France is on the side of international law and has not participated in a preventive war, as Foreign Minister Jean-Nol Barrot stated on national television Thursday. He mentioned that there are over one thousand French nationals in Iran.

“The demand for an end to this war has already begun,” Araghchi added. It shows the effectiveness of the resistance of the Iranian people.

On Friday in Geneva, Araghchi told his French, German and British counterparts that he was open to further discussions but would not negotiate with the United States while Israel continued to attack Iran.

Lammy and his French and German counterparts are urging Iran to return to nuclear negotiations. Iran signaled resistance under attack.

Trump’s statement, read out loud by White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt on Thursday, tamped down speculation that the U.S. was poised to assist Israel in its offensive by striking an Iranian nuclear facility.

British Foreign Secretary David Lammy called the situation “perilous” after meeting Thursday with Secretary of State Marco Rubio and President Trump’s special envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff.

President Trump’s decision to make a decision on whether to strike Iran in July has given the United States a two week window to find a diplomatic solution.

The “E3,” which is made up of European countries, was instrumental in brokering the 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and the United States.

The most significant diplomatic talks between Iran and the West since Israel launched a surprise offensive against Tehran one week ago are expected to take place in Switzerland on Friday.

The Iraq-Israel War and Security: Israeli-Iraq Relations after a High-Energy Test of the United States

The war between Israel and Iran began its ninth day Saturday as the two countries continued to trade missile attacks, and Iran’s foreign minister warned against the U.S. getting actively involved.

The fighting came after Iranian officials had engaged in diplomatic meetings in Geneva, New York and Istanbul on Friday, which failed to produce any breakthroughs, even as President Trump considers whether to join Israel in launching an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s foreign minister spoke in Istanbul Saturday against the U.S. military involvement in the conflict. It would be very, very dangerous for everyone, I think.

Iranian missiles hit Israel’s port city of Haifa on Friday, according to the Israeli military. There was no major damage from Saturday’s strikes.

The Organization of Islamic cooperation is holding a meeting in Istanbul where officials from member countries are discussing the conflict with one another.
