Thousands of people have taken to the streets in US’ Washington DC to protest against Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s plan to fire federal workers. “This is non-violent movement…unlike the January 6th insurrectionists who brought flag poles and other things to use as weapons…everybody who’s here is here to protest peacefully,” said a protester. The protest is against Musk’s proposal to lay off federal workers.

Toyota has said it won’t increase prices immediately after the US imposed 25% tariffs on imported vehicles. “The impact of the Tariffs on American Auto Production at Ridgeville, South Carolina factory…has no immediate plans to increase prices,” a company spokesperson said in an email statement. Earlier, Toyota had said it was likely to pass the cost of tariffs along to its customers.

An employee at Microsoft has claimed that Israel’s military uses Microsoft’s Azure cloud computing platform to sift through “mass surveillement” of data gathered through mass surveillement. “I joined Microsoft believing in its mission to ’empower every person and every organisation on the planet to achieve more’,” the employee wrote. He added that Microsoft tried to suppress any protests from his coworkers.

Nintendo has a price for its Switch 2 era

Nintendo has delayed the launch of its Switch 2 console after US President Donald Trump’s tariffs were announced. Earlier, it had said preorders will begin on April 9. However, Nintendo has now confirmed that preorders will not begin on April 9. “We’re taking this step to ensure that no one misses out on their chance to buy the Switch 2,” the company said.

China and the US on Thursday announced new tariffs on each other’s goods worth $34 billion in a tit-for-tat response to US President Donald Trump’s “reciprocal” tariffs. China added 16 US entities to its export control list and banned them from obtaining Chinese products because they are dual-use. The US also imposed tariffs on $50 billion worth of Chinese products.
