Venezuela says it will resume accepting U.S. deportation flights

Venezuelan President Nicols Maduro has called for the return of Venezuelan migrants sent by US to El Salvador. Maduro’s comments come after the Central American country’s President Nayib Bukele said that the migrants were transferred to the CECOT prison in the country. The US had earlier invoked the 1798 Alien Enemies Act to target alleged members of a violent Venezuelan prison gang.

Families of people deported from Venezuela are in dispute over gang claims

US President Donald Trump’s administration on Wednesday said that El Salvador’s prison system “runs an excellent prison system”. This comes after families of four deported Venezuelans alleged they were sent to El Salvador despite a judge ordering the deportations to turn around. The four are believed to have signed voluntary departures orders, a move that would allow them to come to the US at later time.

ICE is trying to get more international students

Suri Yousef, the Palestinian spokesperson who was arrested by US Department of Homeland Security on Thursday, has sued the agency alleging that it is retaliating against him and his wife for their support for Palestinians. Yousef’s lawyers said that he and his wife have been featured on sites dedicated to defaming academics and students involved in pro-Palestine movement.

The mysterious force pushing galaxies apart may be getting weaker

Researchers at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics said they have found a way to use the robotic arms of the Hubble Space Telescope to study the expansion History of the Universe. They used redshifts to estimate an object’s distance using its redshift, which is determined by the degree to which its light waves were stretched by the expansion of space.

There is a regulated somatic hypermutation that enhances antibodies affinity maturation

We used an experimental and computational model to track GC B cell division in mice and investigate its contribution to total GC responses. We observed that mutation-free clonal bursts contributed disproportionately to overall number of B cells and were highly enriched within high-affinity clones. We simulated a case where there was a constant amount of T cell help in the case of 7a.

The bird brains help scientists with their research

Researchers have found that a human speech-sensing brain region, the frontal cortex, is active during the production of diverse social communication calls in marmoset monkeys. They also discovered that this activity is mediated by the parietal circuit in the frontal cortex, an area of the brain that is not well known for its role in social communication.

The lysis-causing neutrophils shield the skin

quantification of the number of neutrophils per volume area in the skin of CreNEG, Tgfbrflox and wild-type mice using means of atomic force microscopy. Data are presented as mean values s.e.m., compared by two-sided unpaired student’s t-test. Data are presented as mean values s.e.m, compared by a non-comparison test to determine p-values.

The rise in global sea level was revealed from North Sea peats

In this study, we compared the results of input ice-sheet reconstruction and generalized sea-level equation for Southern North Sea with and without rotation of Earth. The results showed negligible differences across the study period, while comparison of the results from the 1D GIA model with and without rotation showed negligible Differences across the study period.

Babies have memories so why can’t we?

A Yale University study has claimed that fMRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scans of babies can help them identify their first memories. Researchers inserted a fMRI bottle in the baby’s mouth to show them images that they had never seen before, including a dog toy, a woman’s face, and a canyon near a waterfall, among others. The babies showed a higher level of activity during the scans.
