There has been a lot of self-Made controversy surrounding the time JD Vance spent on the trail
Is It Racist to Do Anything? The American Workforce’s Voice on Vance’s Voting Problem at the Peculiar Level
He said they were going to fight for workers in the country. “If you work hard and play by the rules, you ought to be able to put a good dinner on the table and send your kids to whatever vacation and whatever school you want to.”
He said that the Democrats say it’s racist to do anything. “I had a Diet Mountain Dew yesterday and one today. I’m sure they’re going to call that racist, too.”
“I think you’ll see somebody being very aggressive at trying to frame the Harris-Walz ticket as super extreme, super out of touch. They’ll be blamed for everything and the world’s going to end if they get elected,” Ryan said about Vance on the debate stage. Donald Trump has an audience of one, so he’ll be hitting that hard.
The Republicans in Ohio were happy with Trump’s choice for his running mate. And Republican strategist Mark Weaver said Vance has appealed to moderates who may be still deciding.
Donald J. Vance: Why should we care about the most? When do we live in the Trump era? When did Vance tell CNN about his conversations with Trump and his campaign
He talked about people who will benefit the most from Donald J. Trump being the president of the United States.
But Vance’s rapid ascension in politics means he has relatively less experience as a campaigner, delivering stump speeches or handling the intense scrutiny on past and present statements.
So the prebuttal tour came as Vance was also dealing with uproar over old comments he made deriding Democrats in charge as quote “childless cat ladies.”
In an interview with Megyn Kelly, Vance denied that the criticism was of people who don’t have children. The media has lied about my statements, but I said in my comments that they’re not about condemning people who didn’t have kids. This is about criticizing the Democratic Party for becoming anti-family and anti-child.”
State and local Republican leaders in Ohio have rejected claims made by Trump and Vance about Haitian migrants in Springfield. According to the city’s mayor, his staff knew the story of eating pets was a hoax before Trump said it was a lie.
“The American media totally ignored this stuff until Donald Trump and I started talking about cat memes,” Vance said in a Sept. 15 CNN interview. “If I have to create stories so that the American media actually pays attention to the suffering of the American people, then that’s what I’m going to do.”
On the debate stage, Trump said he didn’t talk toJD about it. I think he was speaking for himself, and I do not mind if he has a certain view.
After a campaign speech in Raleigh, North Carolina, where Trump mentioned a plan to fix health care, Vance answered a question about how Republicans would remove health insurance risk pools under theAffordable Care Act, a proposal that is unpopular.
When it comes to the messaging of the campaign goals, you can find Vance doing media interviews, delivering speeches, and taking questions after most all of the stops.
But those Q and A sessions can turn contentious, with the crowd often booing questions from journalists as Vance takes the opportunity to paint himself as a pugilist for Trump, whether it be queries about interest rate cuts or questions about the campaign’s support of North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson, who allegedly called himself a “Black Nazi” among other things on a porn forum more than a decade ago. Robinson denied the allegation.
Vance, who was a combat correspondent in the Marine Corps, regularly lectures reporters about what he perceives to be unfair coverage of him and frequently directs them to ask Harris questions instead.
Even in more casual campaign settings, Vance has struggled at times to connect. At one point, the employee of a doughnut shop in Georgia was put on the spot by the candidate, who then asked her not to be filmed. On another visit to a Pennsylvania sandwich shop last weekend, Vance was left standing outside in a parking lot after some initial confusion because staff at the shop were never given advance notice of his visit.
All of these things have contributed to Vance having the lowest favorability rating on this year’s presidential ballot — and one of the lowest of any VP pick in recent history.
Vance and Walz: Where America Comes From During His First Solo Campaign Rally, and How He’s Going to Admitting Something
Take his first solo campaign rally in his hometown, just days after the RNC, where he delivered a populist speech vowing to help lift up “forgotten communities all across our country.”
The debate will be a chance for both Vance and his Democratic opponent, Walz, to present their policy positions to the broader American public, as most people are less familiar with them than with their partners on the presidential ticket.
He said that it was a night of hope. It is time to celebrate what America once was, and God’s grace will bring it back. It is a reminder of our sacred duty to preserve the experiment in order to find a new path for our children and grandchildren.
His acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention included a lot of biography and looked to a more polished take on Trumps often dire rhetoric.
Gibbs said as a farmer managing both crops and livestock, he wants to hear both candidates talk about immigration, trade, tariffs, biofuels and the Farm Bill, rather than personal attacks he expects Vance will launch at Walz.
“I predict Vance will spend ninety minutes affirming that the legacy core GOP principles of diplomacy, statesmanship, personal responsibility, and compassion have all but been extinguished from a once-serious party,” Gibbs said.
“After spending twenty years in local GOP administration, my expectations for the debate stage couldn’t be lower, but I’m a democrat so I’m not sure what to think,” said Chris Gibbs, who now heads the Democratic Party in northwest Ohio.
The former congressman from the area won the seven-way Republican primary in 2022 on the strength of the endorsement of Trump.
Ryan doesn’t know if he is really who he thinks he is at this point. If you hit him in the right spot, he can fly off the handle a little bit, and there’s a real uneasiness to him.
Ryan added that during the debate with Vance, Walz should be prepared to “fact-check him in real time”. The candidates will be in charge of calling out inaccurate statements, according to CBS News, which is hosting the debate.
“Republicans are energized, and many independents are impressed by his policy expertise and his eagerness to deftly answer all press questions while campaigning,” said Weaver, a consultant who’s has worked with a range of Republicans, from local officials in Ohio to former President Ronald Reagan.
Weaver said Vance has sharpened his communications skills through interviews and rallies over the last few years. And no matter what happens in November, Weaver said Vance’s future is “all blue sky – he’ll either be the Vice President and President of the Senate or a first term Senator with a higher profile than his peers elected in 2022.”
