A lot of new software is coming to the program

Generative Expand, Mockup, Distraction Removal and the Firefly 3D Model for Content Creation (Sneaks)

The Generative Expand tool that was first introduced in Photoshop is now generally available for InDesign, allowing users to extend images to fit whatever layout they require. The new Generative Extension feature to Premiere Pro is provided by the Firefly Artificial Intelligence Video Model. It’s in beta for now, but the Video model will likely be used as the base for other features across Adobe’s Creative Cloud apps in the coming year.

Adobe Illustrator is being updated with a new “Objects on Path” feature that allows users to quickly attach, arrange, and move objects along any path shape, giving designers more flexibility when aligning areas of their work. The Mockup tool for staging designs on a 3D model is also now widely available, and the Image Trace feature that converts raster images (JPEG, PNG, PSD etc) to scalable vectors has been improved, too. Adobe says it now creates “crisper vectorized outputs with cleaner lines that are more accurate to the original image.”

The latest version of the Firefly Image 3 Model has been updated with the additions ofgenerative fill,Generative expand,Generate Similar andGenerate Background tools. This update improves the range and quality of outputs, and it understands complex prompt better than the previous model, says Adobe. A new feature in the web app of photoshop makes editing easier by automatically selecting all objects in an image.

There is a new feature called Distraction removal in the Remove tool. Remove already works a bit like Google’s Magic Eraser feature on Pixel phones, allowing users to quickly remove unwanted objects from their images by brushing over them. Adobe’s new distraction removal feature is similar to Magic Eraser, which helps you remove distraction with a single click, by automatically identifying people, wires, and cables.

These tools are being announced at Adobe’s MAX conference as “Sneaks” — what the company refers to as in-development projects that aim to showcase new technology and gauge public interest. There is no guarantee that the Sneak will get a full release, but many features have roots in these projects.

While the tools apply to vastly different mediums, all three have a similar aim — to automate most of the boring, complex tasks required for content creation, and provide creatives more control over the results than simply plugging a prompt into an AI generator. It is proposed to enable people to make animation, images and video edits without the need for lots of time or experience.

There is a new tool called “Project Motion” that will allow you to easily make animated graphics in a variety of styles. The first stage is a simple animation builder which allows creatives to add motion effects to text and basic images, without prior experience in animating. The second stage then takes this animated video and transforms it using text descriptions and reference images — adding color, texture, and background sequences.

Camera flashes and people walking into frames can be removed with the help of the editing tool “Project Clean Machine”. This is a much better solution as it will also correct any effects that are caused by the visuals you are trying to remove. If a firework causes a few seconds of the shot to become over exposed, Clean Machine will make sure the color and lights are still consistent throughout the video.

Sneaks at the CP-Wavemakers: Where Are We Going? What Are We? How Much Can We Learn? What Will We Know in the Coming Months?

We got an early glimpse of these sneaks ahead of their announcements, so we’ll get a better look when they’re demonstrated later today. None of these tools are available yet for the public to try out, but may change over the coming months.
