The U.S. confirms that Ukraine fired long-range projectiles at Russia for the first time

War is Coming: A U.S. Embedding of the Cold Cold War into the Cold Middle East and the New Russian Nuclear Doctrine

A U.S. official, who was not authorized to speak to reporters, confirmed to NPR that Ukraine fired U.S.-made Army Tactical Missile System into Russia for the first time.

The barrage appears to be the result of the Biden administration’s decision — which NPR and other news outlets have reported — to lift restrictions on Ukraine’s use of sophisticated long-range Western weaponry to target inside Russia.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Monday if the media reports were true that Ukraine now has U.S. approval to use Western weapons to strike deep inside Russia, that would spark a “new spiral of tensions” with Washington.

In September, Russian President Vladimir Putin argued that the military of Ukraine was incapable of using long-range weapons without NATO’s help. The US and European countries will face a war with Russia, according to Putin.

Russian President Vladimir Putin lowered the threshold for using his nuclear arsenal as a result of the new doctrine announced on Tuesday that permitted a potential nuclear response by Moscow even to a conventional attack on Russia by any nation with a nuclear power.

Two months before President-elect Donald Trump is due to take the oath of office, there are reports of possible Ukrainian strikes and a new Russian nuclear doctrine.

In his campaign for the presidency, Donald Trump repeatedly said he would seek a quick end to the war in Ukranian with Moscow.

Western and Ukrainian officials say that Russia is planning to destroy the Ukrainian power grid as winter sets in.

According to the Institute for the Study of War, the decision on the range of missiles the U.S. can use will not have a major impact on the war but will weaken the Russian effort.

It said thatUkrainian long-range strikes against military objects within Russia’s back are crucial for degrading Russian military capabilities.

Meanwhile, North Korea recently supplied additional artillery systems to Russia, according to South Korea. It said that North Korean soldiers were assigned to Russia’s marine and airborne forces units and some of them have already begun fighting alongside the Russians on the front lines.

Overnight Ukraine struck a Belgorod factory and an Arsenal in Russia’s Novgorod Region : a counterdisinformation attack launched during a Russian missile campaign

Ukraine struck a factory in Russia’s Belgorod region that makes cargo drones for the armed forces in an overnight attack, according to Andrii Kovalenko, the head of the counterdisinformation branch of Ukraine’s Security Council.

He also claimed Ukraine hit an arsenal in Russia’s Novgorod region, near the town of Kotovo, located about 680 kilometers (420 miles) behind the Ukrainian border. The arsenal stored artillery ammunition and various types of missiles , he said.

The war, which reached its 1,000-day milestone on Tuesday, has taken on a growing international dimension with the arrival of North Korean troops to help Russia on the battlefield — a development which U.S. officials said prompted Biden’s policy shift.

The U.S. Embassy said its closure and attack warning were issued in the context of ongoing Russian missile and drone attacks on Kyiv and anticipated a quick return to regular operations.
