The winter storm has wreaked havoc in the US, stranding cars, canceling flights and no power

As much as 34,000 people have lost power in Arkansas after 15 inches of snow fell across southwest Arkansas amid a winter storm. Entergy Arkansas, the state’s largest electricity provider, said that power should be restored by Saturday afternoon. The NBA postponed the game between the Houston Rockets and Atlanta Hawks scheduled to take place at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta.

Texas and Oklahoma residents are told to seek shelter after a tornado damaged homes

The death toll from tornadoes and severe thunderstorms that hit parts of Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas on Saturday night and Sunday morning rose to at least 18. A tornado was confirmed near Valley View, moving east at 40 mph (64 kph) while a storm moved through Texas and Oklahoma. The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for northern Denton County.
