Boeing will pay a quarter-billion dollar fine after pleading guilty

Boeing, which agreed to plead guilty to misleading regulators about the cause of two crashes of its 737 Max 8 jets that killed 763 people, will be responsible for proposing candidates for an outside monitor, US prosecutors said. “To me an independent compliance monitor being appointed is a significant step…It does signal that the department wants some sort of outside oversight,” a lawyer said.
