The US government has ordered a 25% cut in its Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) staff and a 35% reduction in its contracts. The cuts apply to all divisions of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Institutes of Health, the Food and Drug Administration, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and other agencies.
The secret service’s chief told Congress that they failed
US Secret Service Director Julia Cheatle said the agency had denied President Trump’s team requests for additional security. “As the Director of the…US Secret Service, I take full responsibility for any security lapse,” she added. Cheatle made the statement during her appearance at a congressional hearing into the July 13 shooting at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
