Chandrayaan – 3

India’s mission strengthens the idea that the Moon’s surface was molten

Chandrayaan-3’s Vikram rover has revealed an early lunar crustal rock, named ‘Major’, which is at least two billion years older than the Earth’s Moon. Scientists found the rock contains a significant amount of element abundances. It also contained a fine material that covered much of the lunar surface, similar to what can be found in Earth’s crust.
