Three farmers in Switzerland filed a lawsuit against the government last year to force them to act against climate change before their farms become “unviable”. Climate law experts said that such lawsuits might have stronger sway with governments than previous climate cases from social activist groups. Farmers’ lawsuits might have a better chance of success than previous climate cases, they added.
