A New York Times-Siena College poll shows Vice President Kamala Harris leading US President Donald Trump by one-point in many parts of the country. Last week, pollster Tony Fabrizio had warned of a “Harris Honeymoon” as Democrats were rallying around the Vice President. The poll showed that Trump is leading in many parts of the country, a huge shift from a prior Times poll.

Cryptocurrency investor Jesse Powell said that he donated $1 million to President Donald Trump, mostly in ether, during his Bitcoin 2024 speech at the BTC Media conference. Powell said that Trump said “they look like male models…with a big, beautiful brain” during his speech. Nearly two million came from Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, twin founders of cryptocurrency trading platform Gemini.

US President Donald Trump has called Vice President Kamala Harris a “very good person” and said, “I don’t know if I’ve ever seen someone so good in my life”. This comes after Vice President Joe Biden decided to drop out of the 2020 White House race. Trump added, “It’s a great thing…There are a lot of people who are looking forward to having Kamala as their nominee.”
The speaker of the Congress said that the Secret Service chief had failed
US Secret Service Director Julia Cheatle resigned on Wednesday, a day after she was reprimanded by the House Oversight Committee. Cheatle had refused to answer questions about the shooting of US President Donald Trump’s security detail at a rally in May, saying she wasn’t “prepared” to do so. She was accused of denying Trump team requests for additional security.
Potential rivals of Harris have endorsed her
US Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday received support from former US President Joe Biden after he dropped out of the presidential race. Harris has earned the endorsement of over 300 Democratic delegates so far. The convention is expected to take place in August where Harris will seek the nomination for the presidential election against US President Donald Trump.

Former US Vice President Joe Biden on Saturday announced that he’s withdrawing from the 2020 presidential race. Biden’s announcement comes after President Donald Trump declared that he’s not running for a second term in office. “I think it’s a moment for the country to consider that the President has given us a lesson: that our own wishes, our own immediate desires, should not always be controlling,” Biden said.
Trump is rumored to be looking at J.D. Vance as his vice president
Trump has selected US Senator JD Vance as his vice presidential running mate. The 61-year-old was an critic of ex-President Donald Trump during his first term. In 2016, Vance tweeted that Trump “might be America’s Hitler”, adding that he declared himself a “never- Trump guy” at the time. He later said that he had changed his mind and got Trump’s issues from the beginning.
J.D. Vance will be Trump’s running mate
US President Donald Trump on Wednesday named Ohio Senator DK Vance as his vice presidential running mate. Trump said that Vance’s “very successful business career in technology and finance” would help him to “fight for the American workers and farmers in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Minnesota, and far beyond.” The selection was announced during the first day of the Republican National Convention.

After former US President Donald Trump was shot in his office at the White House, a pro-Trump message board member commented on a picture of Trump’s face and wrote, “I guess they really do want war.” Several other members of the message board agreed with the post. Trump’s ex-lawyer Michael Cohen was accused of helping orchestrate the shooting.
The Republican convention has changed dramatically
US President Joe Biden has ordered a review of security measures in place during former US President Donald Trump’s rally at the Capitol after he was shot at on Saturday. Biden said that the review will look into whether security measures were sufficient to protect Trump. He also called for a cooling down of political rhetoric in the country.
