The rise in global sea level was revealed from North Sea peats
In this study, we compared the results of input ice-sheet reconstruction and generalized sea-level equation for Southern North Sea with and without rotation of Earth. The results showed negligible differences across the study period, while comparison of the results from the 1D GIA model with and without rotation showed negligible Differences across the study period.
Two astronauts from NASA return to Earth after a long trip in space
NASA astronauts Suni Williams and Billy Wilmore returned to Earth from space on Tuesday after spending nine months at International Space Station. They were among the first crew members to be sent to space under NASA’s Commercial Crew Program. The return flight was delayed because of issues with the Starliners flight to the space station.
Ordinary L chondrites were formed by the Massalia asteroid family
A meteorite shower in the early Ordovician is a possible scenario for Early Earth Formation by torque-driven planetary migration, scientists have revealed. The researchers found that there is a “strong possibility” for an early terrestrial planet formation by torque-driven planetary migration. They added that it can also result in “a possible scenario for early terrestrial planet formation by low-velocity impact disruptions of meteorites”.
China sent the first-ever samples from the far side of the Moon back to Earth
China’s Chang’e-6 spacecraft has landed on the Moon’s far side, where soil samples were extracted from the surface and taken back to Earth. The samples have been sent back to Earth as part of China’s “first-of-its-kind effort” to collect lunar samples. Chang’e-6 will be launched to Moon’s south pole in the first half of next year.
