Scientists have an answer as to how fish know where sound comes from

Researchers have shown that some fish can independently detect two components of a sound wave, pressure and particle motion, and combine this information to identify where a sound comes from. They used the PIVlab-80 vibrometric imaging system to study the motion of the inner structures of fish because it was developed to study the motion of flowing particles.
