The tic tokification of social media may be ending

The New York Times and Dow Jones have filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against online news aggregator Perplexity. The lawsuit accuses Perplexity of “hallucinating” news stories without permission. The New York Times had sent the firm a cease-and-desist letter, saying it was using the newspaper’s content without permission. Earlier this month, Forbes had reported how Perplexity appeared to have plagiarized stories.
