MarcoRubio, Trump’s secretary of state pick, will have a confirmation hearing
US President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee to serve as Defence Secretary, former Fox News anchor Pete Hegseth, had told Megyn Kelly on her podcast in December that he’d forgo all alcohol if he’s confirmed to the post. However, Hegseth’s hearing on Tuesday is expected to be “tough but respectful, candid but fair”, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said.

During a Fox News town hall on Wednesday, US Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris said that ex-US President Donald Trump had called Democrats “the enemy within”. Trump had recently said, “It’s the enemy from within…they are very dangerous…they are marxists…communists and fascists and they’re sick.” Earlier, Trump had said that he might have to use the military to handle that enemy.
