There is a gender gap in maths in first grade

The gender gap in the first year of school in France was similar to the gap in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. All children who started their first year of school in France in the year of 2020 or 2021, are covered. The gap emerged across all cohort, socio-demographic groups, regions of France and the types of school.
