The acting president of South Korea was impeached

South Korea’s National Assembly on Friday impeached the country’s Deputy Defence Minister Han Duck-soo for his alleged role in a political crisis that erupted after he ordered the deployment of troops to the National Assembly last week. Han’s impeachment was approved by the National Assembly, despite protests by the governing party lawmakers. South Korean investigators are probing whether he committed rebellion and abuse of power.
