Harvard University President Drew Garber said institutions need to “double down on their commitment…to the good of the nation” and be firm in what they stand for. He added that Harvard’s work directly benefits the US public. This comes after US President Donald Trump’s administration banned Harvard from enrolling international students. Garber further said that we shouldn’t shut off foreign students’ research.

Harvard University’s President Alan Garber has said the US government is trying to address antisemitism by alleging that foreign students from Israel aren’t friendly to the US. “The federal government is saying that we need to address antisemitism in particular, but it has raised other issues, and it includes claims that we lack viewpoint diversity,” he added.
International students at Harvard and across the U.S. are included in the numbers
Harvard University, in a lawsuit against the Trump administration, has said that it had hosted international students under the F-1 visa program for 70 years. This program allowed international students to pursue their education at Harvard, the university said. Harvard added that both programs allowed students from other countries to get an education at Harvard.

Harvard University has said the US government’s decision to revoke the Special Immigrant Visas (SIVs) is a threat to students, scholars and the economy. “We condemn this unlawful and unwarranted action,” said the Ivy League university in a statement. The US government said it is revoking the SEVIS certificate due to Harvard’s failure to protect Jewish students from antisemitism.

Harvard University researchers have shared the Nobel Prize in Chemistry with Johns Hopkins University researchers Richard Hinton and Brian Hopfield for their study of protein structures in proteins. Their work has allowed researchers to study the structure of protein scaffolds, which are building blocks of proteins. They predicted protein structures using a deep inelastic experiment on Mars’ Curiosity rover.
