Ross Ulbricht, the creator of the Silk Road, was freed by President Trump after 11 years in prison

US President Donald Trump has pardoned Ross William Ulbright Ulbricht, an ex-creator of a website known for selling drugs and other contraband on the darknet. The 31-year-old had been sentenced to life imprisonment in 2015 after he was accused of operating the website ‘Silk Road’. Ulbricht was convicted of conspiracy to commit money laundering for running the website between 2013 and 2014.
