Natural killer cells can fight cancer

Researchers in Germany have developed a way to link memory-like NK cells and CD16-based engagers to improve cancer immunotherapy. The researchers found that of 36 people with blood cancer who were given the highest dose of NK cells plus the engager, 72% experienced complete remission. They are also studying whether memory-like NK cells can be combined with a therapy for patients with acute myeloid leukemia.
