Nintendo has delayed the launch of its Switch 2 console after US President Donald Trump’s tariffs were announced. Earlier, it had said preorders will begin on April 9. However, Nintendo has now confirmed that preorders will not begin on April 9. “We’re taking this step to ensure that no one misses out on their chance to buy the Switch 2,” the company said.

Nintendo has confirmed that its second-generation Switch console will be backward-compatible, playing both physical and digital original Switch games. However, the company didn’t reveal the price of the Switch 2. Earlier, Nintendo had clarified that the Switch 2’s price will be similar to its predecessor’s and that it will feature two USB-C ports at the top.
