The US water polo team lost out on a medal because of the Netherlands’ defeat

The US women’s water polo team has lost in the final of the Paris Olympics after losing to the Netherlands in a penalty shoot-out. The US will miss out on the podium for the first time since it joined the Olympics in 2000 after losing to the Netherlands on Saturday. The team had won the World Cup in 2017 but didn’t make it to the Olympics.
