A tool has been developed by the academic publishing industry’s association that aims to automatically flag “suspicious” signals, such as tortured phrases, comments on PubPeer. The plug-in automatically flags any paper that has received comments on PubPeer, which can include corrections and retractions, when readers skim through journal websites. It aims to flag “suspicious” signals, such as retracted references.
