Israel and Hamas are working toward a cease-fire

Israel and Hamas are set to complete the first phase of a ceasefire deal that would end the war between the two countries last year, Reuters reported. In the first phase, 33 hostages will be freed in exchange for a larger number of Palestinian prisoners. The total number of Palestinians released from Israeli custody is expected to be around 1,000.
