Harris has a running mate
US Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris on Wednesday named Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate. Walz, who served in the Minnesota National Guard, has served as the Governor of the Midwestern state since January. Walz is a former high school geography teacher and an assistant on a state title-winning football team.

US Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris has named Minnesota Gov Tim Walz as her running mate. Walz, who became the state’s youngest governor at the age of 45 in 2015, has previously served as a high school geography teacher and National Guard veteran. Harris had announced her vice-presidential ticket in July. Walz took over as the Governor in January 2020.
J.D. Vance will be Trump’s running mate
US President Donald Trump on Wednesday named Ohio Senator DK Vance as his vice presidential running mate. Trump said that Vance’s “very successful business career in technology and finance” would help him to “fight for the American workers and farmers in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Minnesota, and far beyond.” The selection was announced during the first day of the Republican National Convention.
