The National Weather Services (NWS) has issued a blizzard warning for upstate New York and southwestern Pennsylvania. Areas in the two states have received between 24 and 30 centimetres of snow so far this week, according to the NWS. Erie County in Pennsylvania has received between 24 and 30 inches of snowfall since Saturday and has been under a state of emergency.
Tropical Storm Francine formed in the gulf of Mexico and is headed for Louisiana
The US state of Louisiana has declared a state of emergency as a tropical storm approaches the state. Schools will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday after the state’s President John Bel Edwards declared the state of emergency. According to the National Hurricane Center (NHC), the storm is expected to make landfall as a category 2 storm on Wednesday.

The Mescalero Apache Tribe in the United States has declared a state of emergency due to two wildfires in the Lincoln National Forest. Both theSouth Fork and the Salt Fire started on the reservation where the tribe’s president declared a state of emergency. Officials said, “Go now, do not attempt to gather belongings or protect your home.”
