Gene therapies for shaffir cell deficiency take a long time

A new study has said that a stem-cell transplant and a gene therapy can be used to treat sickle-cell disease. The study found that both the treatments were effective in the treatment of severe sickle cell disease. Both transplants and gene therapies require chemotherapy before the treatment. However, it added that both therapies can’t be considered a cure for sickle-cell disease.
