It is time to change the way menstruation research is done

A new study has found women who started hormone therapy before age 50 had a 33% increased risk of heart attack and a 67% higher risk of stroke compared to those who started therapy after the age of 50. The study, which is the first to examine the link between age and the risk of heart attack and stroke, was published in The Lancet.

A tailored approach is needed to tackle the problem of antimicrobial resistance

A study published in The Lancet has claimed that at least 5,00,000 deaths could be avoided globally through strategies such as providing safe water and good sanitation, isolating individuals with resistant bacteria and increasing the frequency of handwashing in hospitals. It added that the largest reduction in deaths would come from improving people’s access to antibiotics that are not available in many countries.
