The U.S. alleges that Russia has influence on US voters
The US Justice Department has charged Russia-backed RT with interfering in the US presidential election in 2016 to reduce support for Ukraine and pro-Russian policies in the country. The agency said that it disrupted foreign influence campaigns designed to spread Russian government propaganda. The US added that it had become aware of RT’s activities in 2017 when RT was required to register as a foreign agent.
A Russian missile strike killed over 40 people in Poltava
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the airstrike on a military training facility in the country’s Poltava region a “terrible tragedy” and said that it was a “crime against humanity”. Zelenskyy added that Russia must allow Ukraine to use weapons on Russian soil. At least 41 people were killed and 180 others injured in the strike, which hit a military training facility.

At least three people have been injured in an air strike in Ukraine’s capital Kyiv by Russia on Monday. The strike targeted a military base in the city, the country’s Defence Ministry said in a statement. Russian forces accelerated their advance in Ukraine’s eastern region over the past week, the UK Defence Ministry said on Sunday.

Russia has claimed to have taken over two towns in Ukraine’s Kursk region, the biggest incursion of Russian forces into Ukrainian soil since World War II. The announcement comes after Russia’s defence ministry said it had taken over the towns of Pivnichne and Vyimka. Russia-backed separatists in Ukraine’s Donetsk region claim to control the country’s second-largest city, Povkrosk.
Zelenskyy fires the air force commander after a fatal crash
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has dismissed the country’s air force chief four days after an F-16 warplane crashed during a Russian bombardment and killed the pilot. The pilot of the F-16 jet was identified by the Ukrainian air force as Colonel Alexei “Moonfish” Mes. Russian forces fired missiles and Shahed drones at Ukrainian targets.
Moscow scrambles to respond as Ukraine pushes offensive inside Russia
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia brought war to Ukraine and should feel bad about it. He said in his nightly video address that Russia “brought war to our land and should feel bad about it”. Russian military officials said they have sent reinforcements to Kursk, that they were defeating the Ukrainian forces and expected to regain control of the border soon.
