Security questions have been raised after Musk’s team views Treasury data
The US Agency for International Development ( USAID) on Saturday informed employees affected by President Donald Trump’s decision to shut it down that they would be reinstated until the end of Friday, February 14. However, none of them would be suspended with pay during that period, a copy of the notice seen by The New York Times said.
The Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, is what it is
US President Donald Trump-led Department of Government Efficiency (DoGE) is a shadow government that is run by Elon Musk, who is a government employee and can work for up to 130 days a year. This comes as Musk claimed routine payments of the Treasury are violating the law and asserted that USAID is “a criminal organisation” without providing evidence.
Why did the website go down?
The US State Department has re-visited the web page of US Agency for International Development (USAID), a government body that funds aid projects in the world. The original USAID website, which covered the wide range of the agency’s portfolio, was shut down after the Trump administration’s partial government shutdown. The new page includes seven items, including information about global health and conflict prevention.
