Switch 2 Review: Nintendo and the Phenomenology of Game Development and Implications for Donald Trump and the Trade-off Between the Switch and the First Console

The console costs more money than the first one. That device launched more than eight years ago, after all. But following yesterday’s big Switch 2 Direct, there has been a lot of sticker shock as people have seen just how much Nintendo is charging for the console and its games, including multiple titles with a price tag of just under $80. Some of the games are better versions of old titles on the Switch.

The switch 2 seems to be another excellent device, with improvements to the processor and screen, and support for 120 frames per second, all based on the reports I have gotten from my colleagues. Nintendo games like Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza seem like they’re shaping up well, too.

Nintendo is pushing back preorders for the Switch 2 due to concerns about Donald Trump’s newly announced tariffs. According to a statement sent to The Verge by Eddie Garcia on behalf of Nintendo, it says preorders will no longer begin on April 9th:
