The Okanagan Radio Astronomy Heritage Site and Baseband System CHIME/FRB: a collaboration between the Dunlap Institute, the National Science Foundation and the Ministry of Research and Innovation

We acknowledge that the territory of Chime is ancestral to the people of the Okanagan. We thank the Dominion Radio Astrophysical Observatory, operated by the National Research Council Canada, for their hospitality and expertise. The Canadian Foundation for Innovation 2012 Leading Edge Fund (Project 31170) gave a grant to Chime, as did the provinces of British Columbia, Québec and Ontario. The CHIME/FRB Project is funded by a grant from the CFI 2015 Innovation Fund (Project 33213) and by contributions from the provinces of British Columbia and Québec, and by the Dunlap Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics at the University of Toronto. Additional funding was provided by the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research, the University of British Columbia, and the Trottier Family Foundation. The Dunlap Institute is funded through an endowment established by the David Dunlap family and the University of Toronto. The Ministry of Research and Innovation in Ontario, along with the Government of Canada, supports research at the Perimeter Institute. The National Science Foundation operates the National Radio Astronomy Observatory under an agreement with Associated Universities. The Canadian Institute for Advanced Research provides funding for research at the University of British Columbia. The CHIME/FRB baseband system is funded in part by a Canada Foundation for Innovation John R. Evans Leaders Fund award to I.S. This work has been able to use data from the European Space Agency’s mission Gaia, which is processed by the Gaia Data Processing and Analysis Consortium The funding for the DPAC was given by institutions in the Gaia Multilateral Agreement. The Gran Telescopio Canarias was installed at the Spanish Observatory on La Palma. A.B.P. is a Banting fellow, a McGill Space Institute (MSI) fellow and a Fonds de Recherche du Quebec—Nature et Technologies (FRQNT) postdoctoral fellow. The A.M.C. is supported by a scholarship. A. Pandhi is funded by the NSERC Canada Graduate Scholarships–Doctoral program. A.P.C. is a Vanier Canada Graduate Scholar. The B.C.A. was supported by a research award. C.D.K. gets some support from a CIERA fellowship. The NASA Hubble fellowship grant was awarded by the Space Telescope Science Institute and is operated by the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy. D.L. is a Lyman Spitzer Junior fellow. F.A.D. is funded by the UBC Four-Year Fellowship. G.E. acknowledges the financial support from an NSERC Discovery Grant (RGPIN-2020-04554) and from a Collaborative Research Team Grant from the Canadian Statistical Sciences Institute (CANSSI, with support from NSERC). FRB research at UBC is supported by an NSERC Discovery Grant and by the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research. Funding for the baseband recording system is provided by the CFI and the I.S. K.B. is supported by a grant. K.N. is a fellow at MIT. A Doctoral Research Award is given to K.R.S. The Graduate Research Fellowship Program supports K. Shin. K.W.M. holds the Adam J. Burgasser Chair in Astrophysics and is supported by NSF grants (2008031 and 2018490). M.B. is a fellow with the International Astronomical Union. A fellow by the name of Gruber. M.B. also received support from the McWilliams seed grant. The Dunlap Institute is funded through an endowment established by the David Dunlap family and the University of Toronto. B.M.G. acknowledges the support of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) through grant RGPIN-2022-03163 and of the Canada Research Chairs program. T.E. is supported by NASA through the NASA Hubble Fellowship grant HST-HF2-51504.001-A awarded by the Space Telescope Science Institute, which is operated by the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy, for NASA, under contract NAS5-26555. V.M.K. received support from the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR), as well as an R. Howard Webster Foundation fellowship and a NSERC Discovery grant, which supported the chair of Astrophysics and Cosmology. Z.P Dunlap was supported by the NWO Veni fellowship.
